Mouthful purchase from UPLB

From Quezon City, I was supposed to go directly to Lumban to get my piña callado barong for a work event this July. But circumstances made me visit the 60th anniversary of UPLB CIDL.  It was where I saw this, ehem, mouthful pottery. 

The seller said that she got the pot from Region 3. The seller took time to color the pots she ordered, a hobby during the COVID-19 pandemic, which in the post-pandemic then turned into a small business. 

It's ugly and enticing. Despite the hassle of bringing it back to Quezon City as a hardcore bus commuter, I can't turn down the enticing 50% off from its original price. 

So yeah, cheers to purchasing an unneeded item just because it's despicable and ugly and enticing. 

Palaboy sa Beta way

Napadaan ako sa Beta way ng UP Diliman. Naalala ko ang Elbi sa senaryong ito. Pati na ang curry sa IRRI. At fresh milk. At Bundok Makiling. At murang mga pagkain. At mataas na sense ng community sa mga student organization ng mga estudyante doon.

Bihira lang makapaglakad-lakad para mag-isip at magproseso ng mga pangyayari sa buhay at relasyon. Nakikipag-agawan kasi ngayon ang trabaho sa personal na espasyo. Buti na lang may magandang sikat ng araw kahapon. Kaya hindi na ako nag-atubili na maging palaboy.

After long hike in Mt Makiling in Los Banos, Laguna, we went into a bakeshop named Dalcielo, initially not to buy any food but just to hang out in a fully airconditioned room. Minutes later, we were contemplating on trying out the cheesecake but then decided that Pane Budino (Italian bread pudding) is big enough for three people to share. So we ordered two.We are having a good time eating the warm bread pudding topped with vanilla ice cream  when one of the owners of the bakeshop sent us an entire medium size of gooey chocolate cake for free. Yey! We love Los Banos!

Yes, this might be a crazy random blog entry that I might soon regret. (But then again I can delete and deny I blog about this.) But as of this moment, I plan to climb Peak 2 Mt Makiling. Again. When? Soon.

Natural isotonic drink from Mt. Makiling

After more than an hour of walking to Mt. Makiling, I had a good refreshing short rest while sipping buko (coconut) juice.

The manang vendor told me, "I got curious myself why students go to the top of Mt. Makiling. So I decided to hike, together with my my amigas of course." Amigas refer to other buko vendors.

Going up Mt. Makiling

My sister invited me to hike the Peak 2 of Mt. Makiling. The day was cloudy with a threat of slight rainfall. The night before, it rained in Makiling. Snce, I am an idiot on hiking, I agreed to go without thinking what I'll be going through.

The way up took us about five hours. I almost die thinking of having coke float halfway up the peak. Remembering it now, I realize that it is always not good to look for things that are non-existent. Float in the forest? Good luck Palaboy!
