I hope my wallet is just misplaced

Me taken in UP track oval during one of the "lost" days.
I'm not sure but I think I lost my wallet. It has all my IDs, my ATM cards, the receipts I need for reimbursements and what-nots.  A few hundred pesos are also in it. I've been looking for missing wallet this afternoon while I am in the detention center but it wasn't in my bag. I convinced myself that maybe, just maybe  I left it at home since it happened several times in the past. When I went home today, I looked for it in the entire house. Funny thing when I'm looking for a missing stuff, I accomplish other things like cleaning up my table, tidying up the bed itself and its under as well as put all the dirty clothes in the laundry bin that has been on the bedroom floor for a couple of days. But still the wallet is missing.

I plan to borrow books on literature in the University library for the entire summer but I won't be able to do without my University ID which is in that missing wallet. And I'm thinking whether I really lost it or that I became a victim of a pickpocket while commuting on my way to detention center this morning.

I been praying to God that I just misplaced it since its really a tedious work to get new ATMs and IDs.

A glass of milk

will perfectly go with this.

After long hike in Mt Makiling in Los Banos, Laguna, we went into a bakeshop named Dalcielo, initially not to buy any food but just to hang out in a fully airconditioned room. Minutes later, we were contemplating on trying out the cheesecake but then decided that Pane Budino (Italian bread pudding) is big enough for three people to share. So we ordered two.We are having a good time eating the warm bread pudding topped with vanilla ice cream  when one of the owners of the bakeshop sent us an entire medium size of gooey chocolate cake for free. Yey! We love Los Banos!

In case you want to try out Dalcielo, it's located in 9478 Lopez Avenue, Los Banos, Laguna. You can call then at (049) 501-2842. They cater and deliver as well.

Beer blog

entry.

Yes, it's this moment when the weather in Manila is too hot that after the day's work, I would crave for a bottle of ice cold beer. No, don't serve me a glass with ice. Just that ice cold beer straight from its bottle.

Too bad, I'm on tight budget now and even that bottle of beer becomes a luxury rather than a need. And now that I'm writing about something I cannot afford (grabe ang paghihirap ko ngayon, Ako ay pobre, pobre!), this activity called blogging seems like an extension of the Holy Week's penitence. Hihi! (Not that I believe that penance will earn me ticket to heaven.)

Most spiritual experience on a "non-spiritual" holiday

I'm just happy that I didn't join any spiritual retreat this long holiday in the Philippines. Most of my friends either went to a down south mission or joined their church retreats. I'm very much happy I didn't.

Don't get me wrong. For the past few weeks, I feel the need for a spiritual event that will further boost my so-called spiritual journey. And joining retreats or mission is very much enticing. However, I feel that these spiritual momentum builders are just like that. Gives you a jump start. I long for a more "real" encounter. Not induced. Not formulated. Not man-made, and by this I mean something that I did not have to do.

Don't get me wrong again. I don't have anything against church retreats or missions. I love them. And I think they give fresh encounters with the Living God. For them maybe, but for me, I'm pretty sure that those are NOT the things I need right now.

A university guy's thought after being mesmerized with this beauty of Bataan

It will be a lost if life is meaningless. And the world is nothing but a random product of big bang. We exist and we die. A life reduced to the start of one point and ended at the same point. It's not even a line. Big bang makes geometry rotten tomato.

It will be a very sad world when beauty is reduced to theories of preferences influenced by ruling class.
I agree that life can be seen as a struggle. But explain life solely as a struggle between bourgeois and proletariat, is bland, colorless, odorless soup. Water is then more exciting, than that.

This world in precision and chaos, of meaning and poetry, of sunny side ups and pan cakes is fullness in itself. And wouldn't it be a wonder that there is mystery and meaning and unexplainable search in it. That even the dullness of life is considered divine and complicated.

All these life and the search for it is innate. A vacuum longing to be filled.

Borrowing his thought two days after ze climb

The pleasure of risk is in the control needed to ride it with assurance so that what appears dangerous to the outsider is, to the participant, simply a matter of intelligence, skill, intuition, coordination- in a word, experience. Climbing in particular, is a parodoxically intellectual pastime, but with this difference: you have to think with your body. Every move has to be worked out in terms of playing chess with you body. If I make a mistake the consequences are immediate, obvious, embarrassing, and possibly painful. For a brief period I am directly responsible for my actions. In that beautiful, silent, world of mountains, it seems to me worth a little risk. A.Alvarez

That total of ten hours hiking

I keep on saying this mantra: It does not matter how slow you go, as long as you don't stop. I think it was from Confucius. Yes another brilliant Chinese that I keep quoting whenever I feel threatened. Hahaha
The sun is up. Compared to the night before that was raining hard and long, the day I went crazy is a sun-filled day. Thank you God!

I saw myself eating my own words when I found myself hiking in Bataan. Five hours of walking, balansingm grabbing roots during uphill and downhill, avoiding sharp wild grass Just to see the waterfalls promised by my ex-boss in an NGO that works with children in conflict with the law.
