I am a loser to consumerism

Again.

I have been visiting Astrid Leather website for almost two months now. And been wanting to buy this card holder since August. And because I am very suspicious about online purchase, I opted to just look for a similar design in different malls and stalls in Metro Manila, Davao and Cebu. But all the card holders I see fell short of the beauty of this Magnificent Thing. Even Fino.

I told myself that I will only buy this MT if my application to a new credit card will be approved. I don't need a new credit card but because there is a bank very near to my residence, I convinced my rationally irrational self that it will be more convenient to settle bills from that bank. So I applied.

And while in the process of waiting for the credit card approval, I asked my roommate to purchase the MT for myself. And roommate did without even asking why.

I am now waiting for the credit card application approval and the delivery of MT.

Your experiences and values will shape how you view your needs.

Haircut day

This is my mum's way of saying I look ugly and I need her touch. She dragged me to a saloon and had my hair styled. The senior hairstylist happened to be my very distant cousin. Surprise, surprise! I got free hair cut! Haha! Pambihirang patis.

I didn't post the the after haircut. Surpresa na lang sa mga makakatingin. Hihi.

I spent 4 hours to wait them finally have their hair done.  Sulit naman at mas lalo silang gumanda. Yummy! Hihi!

No sir, this is art. Not sin.

Last Sunday, after the worship service, my housemate, Soldier, and I went to the mall. He needs to run an errand and asked me if I can accompany him. Having nothing to do, I agreed. It took more time to do the errand than what he said  it would take. Later, when he was done, I wanted to visit some art galleries found in a top floor of the mall. While browsing some good art and looking at some fine details of several artists' techniques, Soldier and I came across an art gallery that showcases female bodies as subject. Human bodies in general are not easy to execute. My eyes are fixated on some art works, in wonder of how figures are drawn when Soldier, just behind me said, "Ay! Pornography!"

I frowned at his comment. Katawan lang pornograpiya na? Gusto kong ihampas siya sa pader. I tried explaining why the human figure has always been a common subject on visual art. But he is really close-minded on relating human bodies to pornography.  I will never go to exhibits, nor appreciate culture and arts with him again. Never.

Sunflowers along university avenue

Got the privilege to be in UP during summer and have a quick snap shot of this yearly tradition of having sunflowers along the University Avenue to beautify the area for the graduation rites during April.

A university guy's thought after being mesmerized with this beauty of Bataan

It will be a lost if life is meaningless. And the world is nothing but a random product of big bang. We exist and we die. A life reduced to the start of one point and ended at the same point. It's not even a line. Big bang makes geometry rotten tomato.

It will be a very sad world when beauty is reduced to theories of preferences influenced by ruling class.
I agree that life can be seen as a struggle. But explain life solely as a struggle between bourgeois and proletariat, is bland, colorless, odorless soup. Water is then more exciting, than that.

This world in precision and chaos, of meaning and poetry, of sunny side ups and pan cakes is fullness in itself. And wouldn't it be a wonder that there is mystery and meaning and unexplainable search in it. That even the dullness of life is considered divine and complicated.

All these life and the search for it is innate. A vacuum longing to be filled.
